Description: English [Out There!]® was born on 23rd July 2001 at 10 Coptic Street, an old London townhouse in the famous Bloomsbury area of central London that is just a few minutes walk from Soho and the West End.
Languages [Out There!]® is administered from 10-12 James Street where English [Out There!] classes are also taught. However, we have received a lot of interest from other more conventional language schools and have started to licence quality language schools to teach [Out There!] in many different locations and languages.
Sometimes it is difficult to get a complex message across to a lot of people and to help them to understand what you are saying. For some people, [Out There!] can be difficult to visualise. A bit of history � why, where, when and how � can help understanding a lot. I wrote this explanation of [Out There!] for the British Council Innovation in ELT Awards in 2004, and it still says what I think and feel about [Out There!]:
�I wanted to involve the students with the real world, because virtually everyone who comes to learn English has studied English at home for a while and has a certain amount of knowledge. What they don't get in their classrooms and reading books and listening to tapes at home is real interaction and practice of the language they already know. They don't get to hear current usage of language, new 'street' vocabulary and real accents at real speed (or close to real speed, because the public will slow down and also grade slightly).
On a short course, everyone who comes here to learn English is fully aware that they will not become fluent, nor is he or she likely to improve a full conventional 'level'. So why are the 'bread and butter' of the UK EFL industry, short courses, trying to teach people segments of long courses (from 12 week course books and involving continuous enrolment) when what they probably would like to do (and all they have time for in reality) is to get some real practice with native speakers and also to learn a 'bit' more (because their expectations are fairly realistic about the amount they will really learn in the time they are going to be here).

How many hours per day will I study for?
You will study for three hours per day. You can take as many or as few classes as you want.
How many levels do you have?
We have 6 levels - Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced.
Do I need to buy any books?
No, our teaching materials are created by our teachers especially for you. You should bring a dictionary and some paper to write on.
What else do I need?
you need to pay for your public transport because you will be going [Out There!]® and you should bring a waterproof and some comfortable shoes.
Are the classes serious or are they just sightseeing?
Our classes are deadly serious (but fun). We expect you to concentrate, listen carefully to the instructions given to you by your teacher and move between the classrooms and the locations quickly without wasting time. If you give us your full co-operation you will enjoy your classes much more and learn more effectively.
