The skin has a marvelous appearance and sturdy durability because the microscopic fibres of the stingray leather are woven together, unlike ordinary cow hide, which has parallel fibres. Until now, attempts at tanning stingray leather failed to consider the fibre structure of marine leather, and the result was a stiff, fragile product. Dian Mandala has been tanned using a newly developed process that work with the non parallel structure of the skin fibres, to yield a strong, soft skin of exquisite texture and beauty.
Marine leather of this quality requires lengthy hand- crafting to impress the raw skin with the proper tanning fluids. But the effort and expense is worthwhile: those interwoven fibres are what give your Dian Mandala stingray leather over twice the streng
